Sept artistes, un ensemble d’ateliers, un entrepôt transformé en maison, un centre d’artistes : VSVSVS1 1 - Anthony Cooper, James Gardner, Laura Simon, Miles Stemp, Ryan Clayton, Stephen McLeod et Wallis Cheung. , c’est tout ça à la fois. Au cours d’une résidence d’un mois au Centre Bang, à Chicoutimi, le collectif fabrique l’exposition Drift, résultat d’une collection de dérives aux alentours du centre d’artistes, mais aussi d’une multitude de choix consensuels. On peut difficilement aborder VSVSVS sans parler de son processus, de son mode de vie qui rappelle la communauté intentionnelle. Je propose une réflexion critique sur l’utopie sociale et artistique que met en œuvre l’exposition Drift.
