Interrogeant notre rapport au monde naturel, les \u0153uvres pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es participent \u00e0 la d\u00e9construction d\u2019une approche dualiste de la nature, l\u2019opposant \u00e0 la culture, et de la mise \u00e0 distance inh\u00e9rente au paysage.\n<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Calfeutr\u00e9e dans sa propre salle, l\u2019installation <em>Ils ont regard\u00e9 la mer&nbsp;!<\/em> (2016) de l\u2019artiste Cynthia Naggar nous invite \u00e0 basculer de notre posture d\u2019observateur ou observatrice, \u00e0 laquelle semble pourtant nous associer le titre de l\u2019\u0153uvre, \u00e0 celle d\u2019interlocuteur ou interlocutrice. \u00c0 l\u2019aide d\u2019un capteur de fr\u00e9quence cardiaque que l\u2019on fixe sur son oreille, on se retrouve plong\u00e9\u00b7e au sein d\u2019une projection audiovisuelle au cours de laquelle le mouvement des vagues tout comme le son du vent s\u2019ajustent \u00e0 notre pouls. L\u2019on se surprend rapidement \u00e0 tenter de moduler sa fr\u00e9quence cardiaque, \u00e0 ralentir la respiration&nbsp;\u2013 ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne de r\u00e9troaction biologique (<em>biofeedback<\/em>) auquel s\u2019int\u00e9resse notamment l\u2019artiste. Il s\u2019agit de mesurer certaines fonctions ou caract\u00e9ristiques organiques autrement invisibles et souvent inconscientes (tels les battements de c\u0153ur ou la tension musculaire) afin de les rendre tangibles et d\u2019encourager leur modulation et la relaxation. La r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tation des informations biologiques recueillies comme un rythme oc\u00e9anique, un souffle atmosph\u00e9rique et un doux murmure de vagues constitue autant une fa\u00e7on de se sensibiliser aux changements subtils et idiosyncrasiques qui t\u00e9moignent de notre pr\u00e9sence que de se conscientiser \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de l\u2019environnement dans lequel nous nous trouvons. Occupant l\u2019enti\u00e8ret\u00e9 de la pi\u00e8ce qui lui est r\u00e9serv\u00e9e, l\u2019installation consiste en une structure architecturale de contreplaqu\u00e9 peupl\u00e9e de chaises, de tables et d\u2019autres meubles \u00e9pars aux reconfigurations infinies. Les chemins esquiss\u00e9s par les plateformes de bois m\u00e8nent \u00e0 de grands tableaux color\u00e9s en aplat aux tons embl\u00e9matiques de la r\u00e9gion. La distribution de ces surfaces monochromes rappelle la forme parfois prescriptive de l\u2019am\u00e9nagement des sentiers pittoresques, dont les points de vue sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 fix\u00e9s pour le randonneur ou la randonneuse. Dans la vid\u00e9o <em>Cryptocristallin<\/em> (2021) et l\u2019impression lenticulaire <em>Pyrocumulus<\/em> (2021), par exemple, des reconfigurations num\u00e9riques de ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes et de g\u00e9ographies naturelles proposent des perspectives vertigineuses \u00e9voquant \u00e0 la fois des nu\u00e9es c\u00e9lestes, des processus de cristallisation, des univers microscopiques et des occurrences cosmiques, basculant d\u2019un horizon \u00e0 l\u2019autre selon le point de vue de la personne qui regarde. Ces syst\u00e8mes rhizomatiques de sens esquivent une approche univoque de l\u2019image per\u00e7ue et invitent \u00e0 une contemplation toujours renouvel\u00e9e. Cet \u00e9clatement de la perspective culmine dans l\u2019\u0153uvre de r\u00e9alit\u00e9 virtuelle <em>\u00c9rosion<\/em> (2022). \u00c0 partir d\u2019images prises par des drones de divers littoraux, incluant la r\u00e9gion de Kamouraska, l\u2019artiste recompose ces espaces liminaires entre terre et mer dans une immersion pixellis\u00e9e et interactive. Les d\u00e9ambulations et les gestes des participant\u00b7e\u00b7s, ainsi que les bruits de l\u2019espace environnant, multiplient les variations de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience virtuelle, permettant une exploration inusit\u00e9e du littoral propre \u00e0 chaque individu. D\u2019autres projets, dont l\u2019\u0153uvre g\u00e9n\u00e9rative<em>Train\u00e9es pyroclastiques<\/em> (2019), touchent subtilement aux probl\u00e9matiques environnementales li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019activit\u00e9 humaine, comme l\u2019exploitation mini\u00e8re dans la Sierra de Santa Catarina, au Mexique, chaine de volcans d\u2019o\u00f9 l\u2019on extrait le tezontle, une roche volcanique aux teintes rouges caract\u00e9ristique de l\u2019architecture mexicaine. En illustrant une lente accumulation de cette roche sur un fond noir et sa dissolution en pixels, l\u2019artiste fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9mergence volcanique de ce min\u00e9ral tout comme \u00e0 la progression sempiternelle des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s d\u2019extraction. Exercice \u00e0 la fois contemplatif de la mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 du tezontle et critique des cons\u00e9quences de son exploitation, l\u2019\u0153uvre habite ces deux registres avec aisance et
