La publication est divis\u00e9e en deux sections&nbsp;: l\u2019une pr\u00e9sente l\u2019exposition <em>Loin des yeux pr\u00e8s du corps<\/em> tenue \u00e0 la Galerie de l\u2019UQAM \u00e0 l\u2019hiver 2012 qui groupait le travail de 10 artistes femmes, et l\u2019autre rassemble les essais des 21 participantes au colloque <em>Femmes&nbsp;: th\u00e9orie et cr\u00e9ation<\/em> qui avait lieu \u00e0 l\u2019automne 2010. Compos\u00e9 \u00e0 parts \u00e9gales de textes et d\u2019images, l\u2019ouvrage r\u00e9pond \u00e0 l\u2019objectif de la commissaire de penser conjointement la th\u00e9orie et la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019un point de vue f\u00e9ministe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deux axes de recherche guident l\u2019\u00e9criture de la publication&nbsp;: le premier, orient\u00e9 par les \u0153uvres expos\u00e9es, interroge les effets de proximit\u00e9 et de distance entre les yeux et le corps \u00e0 la rencontre de l\u2019\u0153uvre. Privil\u00e9giant l\u2019intimit\u00e9 de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience sensitive du corps, le regard se fait \u00ab\u2009r\u00e9ceptacle d\u2019une m\u00e9moire corporelle \u00e0 partager\u2009\u00bb (p. 19). Le second axe explore la relation entre femmes, th\u00e9orie, cr\u00e9ation et politique et renvoie \u00e0 l\u2019ensemble des essais qui propose l\u2019analyse de productions artistiques contemporaines \u00ab\u2009en vue de d\u00e9terminer leur apport \u00e0 l\u2019avancement du savoir et des femmes\u2009\u00bb (p. 59). La port\u00e9e didactique de l\u2019ouvrage est ainsi soulign\u00e9e en combinant la perspective d\u2019historiennes, th\u00e9oriciennes, auteures et artistes et en abordant de mani\u00e8re historique, sociologique et m\u00e9thodologique la posture f\u00e9ministe en art, ce qui permet d\u2019envisager la richesse actuelle du propos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La qualit\u00e9 du projet refl\u00e8te aussi un important travail de collaboration entre nombre d\u2019acteur-es, dont deux maisons d\u2019\u00e9dition (Galerie de l\u2019UQAM et remue-m\u00e9nage). Cette collaboration participe \u00e0 l\u2019engagement politique fond\u00e9 sur les \u00e9tudes f\u00e9ministes et sur le genre, rendant indissociables th\u00e9orie et cr\u00e9ation. La vis\u00e9e politique du projet est clairement \u00e9nonc\u00e9e par St-Gelais qui reprend la position de Jacques Ranci\u00e8re, celle qui repose sur la capacit\u00e9 des images et th\u00e9ories de l\u2019art \u00e0 transformer les id\u00e9es et \u00e0 configurer de nouveaux mondes possibles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette conception politique de l\u2019art permet de mieux saisir la ligne de pens\u00e9e qui lie le projet d\u2019exposition et le colloque. Elle permet aussi de concevoir ce projet collaboratif comme volont\u00e9 de se d\u00e9gager des normes discursives.
