Cette \u0153uvre a \u00e9t\u00e9 diffus\u00e9e en avant-premi\u00e8re sur le sol fran\u00e7ais durant l\u2019exposition collective \u00ab A Montr\u00e9al, quand l\u2019image r\u00f4de \u00bb pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019hiver 2013-2014 au Fresnoy de Tourcoing, sous le commissariat de Louise D\u00e9ry.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><em>La main du r\u00eave<\/em>&nbsp;(2013) est \u00e0 la fois un ballet et un portrait : un spectacle naturaliste n\u00e9 de l\u2019incursion de l\u2019\u0153il technologique parmi l\u2019omnipr\u00e9sence v\u00e9g\u00e9tale. Chaque infime palpitation de la terre, de l\u2019air, du bois et des feuillages est syst\u00e9matiquement diss\u00e9qu\u00e9e et sublim\u00e9e. Grandmaison plonge au c\u0153ur d\u2019un sous-bois des Morin-Heights \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019une Red One produisant 300 images par seconde et perp\u00e9tue sa pratique du m\u00e9dium filmique avec l\u2019alliance de pr\u00e9cision et de po\u00e9sie qui traverse toute son \u0153uvre. L\u2019artiste d\u00e9laisse ici un discours r\u00e9flexif sur les sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s du m\u00e9dium au profit d\u2019une ode \u00e0 la nature qui habite toute l\u2019exposition. Dans&nbsp;<em>La main du r\u00eave<\/em>, la coexistence de distorsions temporelles telles que la permanence de l\u2019instant et l\u2019inversion chronologique, si saisissante dans le diptyque&nbsp;<em>Double brouillard<\/em>&nbsp;(2007) \/&nbsp;<em>Je te vois \u00e0 l\u2019envers<\/em>&nbsp;(2008), vient fracturer le cycle naturel des \u00e9l\u00e9ments. Le spectacle des \u00e9l\u00e9ments prenant vie \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran se prolonge lorsqu\u2019\u00e0 sa surface notre regard poursuit le glissement grin\u00e7ant de la pierre de Sisyphe d\u00e9tach\u00e9e de son h\u00e9ros. Avec l\u2019image, c\u2019est le mythe tout entier qui conna\u00eet une inversion de sens dans&nbsp;<em>Nostalgie #1<\/em>&nbsp;(2013), comme un hommage aux \u00e9crits d\u2019Albert Camus qui avan\u00e7ait la th\u00e8se selon laquelle l\u2019homme agissant en pleine conscience de sa t\u00e2che ne subit plus sa destin\u00e9e. Sous l\u2019effet des jeux de cadrage et de temps caract\u00e9ristiques du m\u00e9dium vid\u00e9o, l\u2019objet min\u00e9ral semble soudain devenu son propre moteur et acquiert une fonction de guide pour l\u2019individu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pascal Grandmaison endosse ce r\u00f4le d\u2019\u00e9claireur avec force dans la s\u00e9rie photographique&nbsp;<em>Second Regard<\/em>&nbsp;(2013) o\u00f9 il revient \u00e0 une double exposition du sujet et du m\u00e9dium. Il fait \u00e9merger de l\u2019ombre l\u2019immensit\u00e9 des grottes de Cacahuamilpa pr\u00e8s de Taxco au Mexique.
