Pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 dans le cadre du dernier Festival TransAm\u00e9riques, le triptyque <em>Hot Pepper, Air Conditioner, and The Farewell Speech<\/em>, \u00e9crit et mis en sc\u00e8ne par Toshiki Okada, s\u2019avance dans le m\u00eame territoire sauf qu\u2019ici l\u2019ambition d\u00e9mesur\u00e9e c\u00e8de le pas \u00e0 une profonde d\u00e9sillusion. <\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Articul\u00e9es autour de l\u2019extr\u00eame pr\u00e9carit\u00e9 d\u2019emploi, cons\u00e9quence de la grave crise \u00e9conomique qui a \u00e9branl\u00e9 le pays dans les ann\u00e9es 1990, les trois courtes pi\u00e8ces r\u00e9v\u00e8lent le d\u00e9sespoir r\u00e9sign\u00e9 de jeunes travailleurs surnum\u00e9raires dont le \u00ab dur d\u00e9sir de durer \u00bb s\u2019est effrit\u00e9, les uns renvoy\u00e9s sans explication, les autres persuad\u00e9s qu\u2019ils seront les suivants. Reflet d\u2019une navrante r\u00e9alit\u00e9 sociale, l\u2019oeuvre sc\u00e9nique en trois temps se d\u00e9ploie \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cart de toute repr\u00e9sentation r\u00e9aliste en entrem\u00ealant, de fa\u00e7on insolite, diff\u00e9rents codes esth\u00e9tiques. Ainsi, dans un espace \u00e9pur\u00e9, comme en ape-santeur, o\u00f9 seules quelques chaises noires reposent sur le sol d\u2019un blanc \u00e9blouissant, entour\u00e9es de trois murs tout aussi immacul\u00e9s, surgissent les jeunes protagonistes de <em>Hot Pepper<\/em>. Adoptant un jeu quasi naturaliste et une langue \u00ab pauvre \u00bb proche de celle parl\u00e9e dans les rues de Tokyo, ils devisent platement sur le choix d\u2019un restaurant o\u00f9 c\u00e9l\u00e9brer le d\u00e9part d\u2019une coll\u00e8gue r\u00e9cemment mise \u00e0 pied. Or, par petits soubresauts, la sc\u00e8ne, qui s\u2019inscrit d\u2019abord dans la lign\u00e9e d\u2019un \u00ab th\u00e9\u00e2tre du banal \u00bb ou \u00ab th\u00e9\u00e2tre du quo-tidien \u00bb, bascule du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9trange : des lumi\u00e8res violettes, vert pomme ou rose bonbon \u00e9claboussent les murs ; au son de la musique r\u00e9p\u00e9titive de John Cage, chacun des personnages se lance dans une chor\u00e9graphie absurde mais minutieuse, o\u00f9 la gestuelle surr\u00e9aliste n\u2019a rien \u00e0 voir avec les mots prononc\u00e9s, mais \u00e9voque tout de m\u00eame, par son c\u00f4t\u00e9 robotis\u00e9, m\u00e9ca-nique, le sentiment d\u2019ali\u00e9nation qui \u00e9treint ces travailleurs anonymes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans les deux autres pi\u00e8ces du triptyque \u2013 <em>Air Conditioner <\/em>et <em>The Farewell Speech <\/em>\u2013, \u00e0 la fois suites et variations sur un m\u00eame th\u00e8me, le metteur en sc\u00e8ne r\u00e9it\u00e8re le jeu : dans la premi\u00e8re, alors qu\u2019ils ex\u00e9cutent leur petite danse de pantins d\u00e9sarticul\u00e9s, les personnages r\u00e9p\u00e8tent en boucle une assommante litanie \u00e0 propos de leur \u00ab inconfort climatis\u00e9 \u00bb et dans la seconde, le discours d\u2019adieu d\u2019une employ\u00e9e licenci\u00e9e, d\u2019abord au ras des p\u00e2querettes, d\u00e9rive bient\u00f4t vers un r\u00e9cit bizarre (mais \u00e9mi-nemment m\u00e9taphorique) \u00e0 propos d\u2019une cigale \u00e9cras\u00e9e par un soulier \u00e0 talon haut.
