L\u2019ancienne \u00ab\u2009Force de l\u2019art\u2009\u00bb, dont le but \u00e9tait de valoriser les artistes contemporains \u00ab\u2009fran\u00e7ais\u2009\u00bb, a \u00e9t\u00e9 remplac\u00e9e par cette nouvelle mouture plus ouverte sur le monde qui procure \u00e0 Paris un \u00e9quivalent des manifestations d\u2019art contemporain existantes, par exemple la Biennale de Lyon. Quelques pi\u00e8ces ont d\u2019ailleurs \u00e9t\u00e9 vues pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment \u00e0 Venise. En deux mots, l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement est sans originalit\u00e9 mais les \u0153uvres choisies sont souvent pertinentes, ce qui n\u2019est d\u00e9j\u00e0 pas si mal.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>En explorant les marges de la manifestation, on d\u00e9couvre des initiatives plus audacieuses. Les num\u00e9ros du journal publi\u00e9s sur le site internet comportent des articles passionnants (r\u00e9flexions de Thomas Hirschhorn, n\u00b0 2), des \u00e9changes riches et pr\u00e9cis (entretien d\u2019Anna Colin et Latifa La\u00e2bissi, n\u00b0 2), des mises en pages radicales (r\u00e9partition des images de Closky, n\u00b0 4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La proposition la plus int\u00e9ressante reste sans doute l\u2019exposition <em>Tropicomania<\/em>,<em> la vie sociale des plantes<\/em> \u00e0 B\u00e9tonsalon, qui rassemble des \u0153uvres et des documents autour de la circulation des plantes exotiques. D\u00e8s l\u2019entr\u00e9e on peut voir le documentaire <em>Ananas<\/em> (1983) d\u2019Amos Gita\u00ef qui suit les m\u00e9andres de la fabrication des conserves Dole&nbsp;: tandis que les \u00e9tiquettes sont imprim\u00e9es au Japon, les ananas sont cultiv\u00e9s aux Philippines, mis en bo\u00eete \u00e0 Hawa\u00ef et commercialis\u00e9s \u00e0 San Francisco. En interrogeant les employ\u00e9s agricoles, les ouvriers, les dirigeants, le r\u00e9alisateur r\u00e9v\u00e8le \u00e0 quel point ce fruit si lumineux incarne une sombre histoire coloniale qui se poursuit aujourd\u2019hui \u00e0 travers la domination \u00e9conomique. Non loin, une reproduction d\u2019un tableau du 17<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle montrant le roi d\u2019Angleterre, Charles II, un ananas \u00e0 la main, <em>King Charles receiving the first Pineapple cultivated in England<\/em> (1675) du peintre hollandais Hendrick Dankerts, r\u00e9sume la fascination et les enjeux de pouvoir concentr\u00e9s dans le fruit. Il est int\u00e9ressant de noter que les commissaires ont privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 la construction du sens \u00e0 travers l\u2019accrochage aux d\u00e9pens du spectaculaire en faisant figurer la reproduction d\u2019une \u0153uvre originale indisponible. La s\u00e9rie d\u2019aquarelles <em>This is not an apricot<\/em> (2009) de Maria Thereza Alves qui confronte les fruits avec leurs noms, se trouve accroch\u00e9e au-dessus d\u2019un sp\u00e9cimen de banane tir\u00e9e de l\u2019herbier de Lamarck. Des photos de Germaine Krull des ann\u00e9es 40 montrent des travailleurs camerounais r\u00e9coltant le caoutchouc, tandis qu\u2019en face, une carte g\u00e9ographique pr\u00e9sente l\u2019Afrique comme un vaste r\u00e9servoir de denr\u00e9es dans lequel il n\u2019y a qu\u2019\u00e0 puiser.
