Preciado d\u00e9finit le corps comme un th\u00e9\u00e2tre de luttes constantes contre les normes sociales, les st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes, les pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s, les discriminations. Comment, alors, repenser la corporalit\u00e9, quand tant de forces ext\u00e9rieures cherchent \u00e0 contraindre, influencer et rendre invisible\u2009? <\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Initiative de la commissaire acadienne Elise Anne LaPlante, l\u2019exposition <em>Le septi\u00e8me p\u00e9tale d\u2019une tulipe-monstre<\/em> met en dialogue des \u0153uvres de Caroline Boileau, de Mimi Haddam, d\u2019Helena Martin Franco, de Dominique Rey, de Winnie Truong, ainsi que du collectif Ikumagialiit (compos\u00e9 de Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory, de Cris Derksen, de Jamie Griffiths et de Christine Tootoo). Par le biais d\u2019une multidisciplinarit\u00e9 assum\u00e9e, l\u2019exposition collective dresse le portrait de pratiques contemporaines qui examinent et mettent \u00e0 mal l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019une normativit\u00e9 corporelle. Des \u0153uvres qui touchent \u00e0 l\u2019hybridit\u00e9, \u00e0 l\u2019ind\u00e9cision, voire \u00e0 la transformation des corps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces modulations \u2013 et c\u2019est ici le point de r\u00e9sonnance de la proposition \u2013 sont le r\u00e9sultat volontaire et incorpor\u00e9 (<em>embodied<\/em>) des artistes elles-m\u00eames. Les aquarelles de Caroline Boileau illustrent des sortes de chim\u00e8res o\u00f9 toutes les textures du vivant semblent couvrir des vaisseaux translucides d\u2019organes. En extension aux corps repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s, l\u2019application hasardeuse de l\u2019encre r\u00e9v\u00e8le l\u2019importance constitutive du souffle de l\u2019artiste dans la r\u00e9alisation de ses dessins. Une respiration qui prend forme ailleurs dans les textes po\u00e9tiques de Mimi Haddam. Les po\u00e8mes sont reproduits \u00e0 m\u00eame les murs, o\u00f9 ils s\u2019enroulent souvent d\u2019un espace \u00e0 l\u2019autre, comme celui-ci, qui apparait \u00e9galement dans le catalogue de l\u2019exposition&nbsp;: \u00ab\u2009Elles sont pleines de cocons, d\u2019archives, mais aussi d\u2019imaginaires\/ Ce n\u2019est plus dans le ventre des femmes avort\u00e9es que le texte gigote. Dans celles-ci, nous sommes en pr\u00e9sence de son alter ego, une femme \u00e9l\u00e9phant, qui se couvre de mots ou de mati\u00e8res, comme pour se fondre dans l\u2019informe. Similairement, les photographies de Dominique Rey \u2013 par le truchement d\u2019impressions manipul\u00e9es \u2013 mettent en sc\u00e8ne des corps camoufl\u00e9s dans leur propre image. Au bas des murs, l\u2019intervention in situde Truong est constitu\u00e9e de d\u00e9coupes de papier \u00e9pingl\u00e9es \u00e9voquant des brins d\u2019herbe. Au d\u00e9tour d\u2019un des espaces de projection vid\u00e9o, l\u2019\u0153uvre <em>AATOOQ (Full of Blood)<\/em> (2021) du collectif Ikumagialiit captive par ses contrastes entre la lumi\u00e8re crue du nord et la r\u00e9currence de la couleur rouge, couleur qui marque les l\u00e8vres, les accessoires, les mains couvertes de sang menstruel. Les s\u00e9quences o\u00f9 l\u2019on voit Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory danser sont entrecoup\u00e9es de panoramas min\u00e9raux peupl\u00e9s de chiens de traineau. En faisant l\u2019exp\u00e9rience de l\u2019exposition, les \u0153uvres r\u00e9unies traduisent bien le d\u00e9sir d\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation corporelle des artistes. Habilement, celles-ci, en amenuisant les fronti\u00e8res entre attirance et r\u00e9pulsion, rappellent la faillibilit\u00e9 des normes sociales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">L\u2019artiste et chercheur Guillaume Adjutor Provost enseigne \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Moncton, au Nouveau-Brunswick. Il s\u2019int\u00e9resse aux strat\u00e9gies commissariales comme actes de cr\u00e9ation.
