Log\u00e9e sous la coupole embl\u00e9matique, l\u2019\u0153uvre immersive faite enti\u00e8rement de miroirs refl\u00e8te l\u2019immense fresque du 19<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle illustrant le commerce de la France avec les autres continents. Du souhait de sa cr\u00e9atrice, faire l\u2019exp\u00e9rience de son minimalisme revient \u00e0 bousculer les rep\u00e8res spatiaux et \u00e0 resserrer les limites entre soi, l\u2019autre et l\u2019infiniment grand. Misant sur son effet spectaculaire, l\u2019installation, qui provient d\u2019une s\u00e9rie d\u2019\u0153uvres in situ signatures \u2013 notamment r\u00e9alis\u00e9es \u00e0 Toronto ou \u00e0 Paris \u2013, ne se r\u00e9v\u00e8le cependant pas la plus \u00e9loquente de la s\u00e9lection de la commissaire Emma Lavigne.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>La mise en vitrine d\u2019objets h\u00e9t\u00e9roclites (usuels ou cr\u00e9\u00e9s de toutes pi\u00e8ces) autour de la rotonde centrale, elle plus convaincante, nous initie en effet de belle fa\u00e7on \u00e0 la pratique de Kimsooja. Ainsi, des art\u00e9facts \u00e9pars dans des micro-espaces clos reprennent les th\u00e8mes qui lui sont chers, tels la pr\u00e9sence intangible, l\u2019immat\u00e9rialit\u00e9, le nomadisme et l\u2019\u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re. Ils adoptent des formes mues par la trace gestuelle de l\u2019artiste, dont des papiers froiss\u00e9s, des billes de porcelaine, de la glaise, le d\u00e9p\u00f4t de grains de sable et de lin, ou encore des formes rondes \u00e9pousant celle des <em>bottari<\/em>, ces baluchons color\u00e9s associ\u00e9s \u00e0 des cultures asiatiques nomades et construits \u00e0 partir d\u2019enveloppes textiles. La vid\u00e9o <em>Sewing into Walking<\/em>&nbsp;<em>\u2013 Kyungju<\/em> (1994), issue de sa premi\u00e8re performance film\u00e9e et diffus\u00e9e au sous-sol du mus\u00e9e aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de cinq <em>bottari <\/em>(<em>Bottari<\/em>, 2017), montre d\u2019ailleurs, dans un montage au ralenti, la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration rituelle de tissus ancestraux par la performeuse. Le corps index, droit et anonyme de Kimsooja s\u2019affirme avec force contre l\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration des mar\u00e9es d\u2019individus. Immobile, le corps inactif, comparable au degr\u00e9 z\u00e9ro de l\u2019\u00eatre, recoud toutefois, \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re d\u2019une aiguille verticale, les maillons d\u2019une humanit\u00e9 en mouvement perp\u00e9tuel. L\u2019acte de r\u00e9sistance face au tumulte du r\u00e9gime de vie capitaliste s\u2019affiche ici dans un pacifisme qui \u00e9branle par sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 rompre avec la violence \u00e0 laquelle renvoient constamment les m\u00e9dias de masse. Enfin, dans l\u2019auditorium du b\u00e2timent est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 le film documentaire en six chapitres <em>The Thread Routes<\/em> (2010-2019), qui nous am\u00e8ne \u00e0 \u00eatre les t\u00e9moins d\u2019une mosa\u00efque de pratiques artisanales et textiles des quatre coins du monde, dont celle de teinturiers de l\u2019Inde, de tisserands du P\u00e9rou ou de denteli\u00e8res belges, si bien que la rencontre humaine, moteur principal de la d\u00e9marche de Kimsooja, nous connecte avec une po\u00e9sie gestuelle universelle, \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re d\u2019un voyage cyclique et intemporel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">Enseignante&nbsp;d\u2019histoire de l\u2019art aux cycles sup\u00e9rieurs et critique d\u2019art ind\u00e9pendante, Julie Richard \u00ads\u2019int\u00e9resse&nbsp;aux&nbsp;d\u00e9marches interdisciplinaires des femmes et des identit\u00e9s LGBTQIA+.
