Dans la petite galerie d\u2019Occurrence, quatorze \u0153uvres s\u2019alignent sobrement. D\u2019embl\u00e9e, les correspondances formelles \u2014 r\u00e9seaux, grilles et treillis, grands \u00ab\u2009X\u2009\u00bb qui vont de coin \u00e0 coin, d\u00e9coupes rectangulaires qui imitent des proc\u00e9dures \u00ab\u2009copier\/-coller\u2009\u00bb \u2014 invitent le regard \u00e0 scruter les objets graphiques \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019indices expliquant la conception de ces \u00e9tranges assemblages. <\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Ni tableaux d\u00e9coup\u00e9s, ni reliefs sculpturaux, ces \u0153uvres nous confrontent avant tout \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9nigme de leur fabrication et \u00e0 une esth\u00e9tique de la production. D\u2019une facture impeccable, les pi\u00e8ces de B\u00e9langer r\u00e9v\u00e8lent n\u00e9anmoins les marques du fait-main, les coulures du ciment de pl\u00e2tre d\u00e9bordant g\u00e9n\u00e9reusement des structures de support sous-jacentes. De loin, ces contours irr\u00e9guliers rappellent les s\u00e9lections fines, quoiqu\u2019al\u00e9atoires, des outils du logiciel Photoshop. De pr\u00e8s, la mati\u00e8re poreuse du pl\u00e2tre Hydrocal<sup>\u00a9<\/sup> donne l\u2019impression d\u2019un gigantesque fil d\u2019araign\u00e9e tendu \u00e0 t\u00e2tons. Ensemble, ces lattis cr\u00e9ent une surface plane et en saillie qui r\u00e9v\u00e8le un second r\u00e9seau filigrane de vecteurs creux qui s\u2019alignent ou non avec les coul\u00e9es \u00e9paisses. Par moments, les \u00e9chappements liquides se tarissent et d\u00e9voilent la grille de polym\u00e8re que l\u2019on peut imaginer sous-tendre le reste de l\u2019armature. Sur les parties hautes comme sur les sillons concaves, les d\u00e9tails photographiques qui ont surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9videment des formes attirent l\u2019attention sur des zones de couleurs flout\u00e9es ou des fragments d\u2019images qui nous situent devant un \u00e9difice, dans un paysage, en galerie ou dans un int\u00e9rieur sans qualit\u00e9 particuli\u00e8re. Parfois, ces deux surfaces pr\u00e9sentent un visuel continu qui indique un plan pictural uni. En r\u00e9alit\u00e9, c\u2019est dans l\u2019archive photographique de l\u2019artiste que nous sommes amen\u00e9s \u00e0 nous balader&nbsp;: lieux de cr\u00e9ation, de r\u00e9p\u00e9tition ou d\u2019exposition\u2009; tests photographiques, croquis instantan\u00e9s, projets abandonn\u00e9s\u2009; images d\u00e9coup\u00e9es, r\u00e9assembl\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019aide de petits bouts de collant aux couleurs satur\u00e9es, puis pli\u00e9es, d\u00e9pli\u00e9es, repli\u00e9es et rephotographi\u00e9es. Dans le texte qui accompagne l\u2019exposition, l\u2019autrice Emmanuelle Choquette pointe \u00ab\u2009une mise \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve constante de l\u2019image\u2009; mat\u00e9riellement, formellement, mais aussi ontologiquement&nbsp;\u00bb. On pourrait ajouter une notion \u00e0 celle de mise \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve ontologique de l\u2019image, une autre&nbsp;: \u00e9pist\u00e9mologique celle-ci\u2009: de <em>ce que sont <\/em>les images, \u00e0 comment l\u2019on connait ou reconnait <em>ce qui fait<\/em> l\u2019image. \u00c0 travers une plastique aussi aust\u00e8re et d\u00e9charn\u00e9e qu\u2019engageante et g\u00e9n\u00e9reuse, ces \u0153uvres extrudent patiemment, chacune d\u2019une fa\u00e7on subtilement sp\u00e9cifique, une cons\u00e9cution de relations mat\u00e9rielles, op\u00e9ratoires et s\u00e9mantiques qui pose devant nous la probl\u00e9matique de leurs conditions pr\u00e9alables d\u2019actualisation.
