Figure embl\u00e9matique de l\u2019art urbain, ce graffeur a choisi l\u2019espace public pour s\u2019exprimer. Par cons\u00e9quent, il a aussi d\u00e9fi\u00e9 les conventions artistiques \u00e9tablies, en marge du cadre traditionnel des galeries et du march\u00e9 de l\u2019art. N\u00e9anmoins, cet adepte du pochoir fait aujourd\u2019hui l\u2019objet d\u2019une c\u00e9l\u00e9brit\u00e9 mondiale, et cette renomm\u00e9e a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9e par la capitale des Pays-Bas o\u00f9 s\u2019est ouvert le Mus\u00e9e Banksy en mai dernier. Amsterdam a ainsi ajout\u00e9 \u00e0 ses attractions culturelles une collection de plus de 160\u202fcr\u00e9ations de l\u2019artiste.  <\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u2019envergure, sans \u00eatre immense, d\u2019apparence sobre, sans \u00eatre rev\u00eache, l\u2019institution mus\u00e9ale est sise dans le quartier excentr\u00e9 de Westerpark. L\u2019aspect industriel de son enveloppe ext\u00e9rieure est reconduit \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du b\u00e2timent et \u00e9voque les contours architecturaux et urbanistiques investis par le graffeur, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 d\u2019office comme un artiste. La premi\u00e8re salle de l\u2019exposition, qui suit globalement la trame chronologique de la carri\u00e8re de Banksy, est consacr\u00e9e \u00e0 la s\u00e9rie <em>Kate\u202fMoss<\/em> (2006) dans laquelle le visage de la mannequin britannique se substitue \u00e0 celui de Marilyn\u202fMonroe, tel que portraitur\u00e9 par Andy\u202fWarhol. Dans le sillage du maitre de la s\u00e9rigraphie, l\u2019artiste de rue s\u2019\u00e9vertue \u00e0 son tour \u00e0 \u00e9dulcorer les fronti\u00e8res entre l\u2019art et la vie en puisant son inspiration dans le quotidien, mais en adoptant un ton plus acerbe que Warhol. D\u2019une salle \u00e0 l\u2019autre, pour la plupart relativement \u00e9troites et faiblement \u00e9clair\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019image des ruelles qui servent de canevas au graffeur, le public (re)d\u00e9couvre quelques dessins et toiles de Banksy, mais surtout ses graffitis. \u00c0 d\u00e9faut de pouvoir r\u00e9it\u00e9rer leur contexte initial de production, les \u0153uvres sont accompagn\u00e9es d\u2019objets, de trames sonores, voire de d\u00e9tritus. Ces rivalit\u00e9s dominent dans les derni\u00e8res salles de l\u2019exposition qui sont consacr\u00e9es aux affrontements actuels en Ukraine et en Palestine. Ainsi \u00ab\u202fmus\u00e9ifi\u00e9e\u202f\u00bb, la production de Banksy ne risque-t-elle pas de voir son essence fauss\u00e9e\u202f? Banksy pr\u00f4ne l\u2019autonomie artistique et marchande en s\u2019arrogeant les contours du paysage urbain pour proposer gratuitement des \u0153uvres s\u2019adressant \u00e0 tous et \u00e0 toutes. Peut-on encore parler d\u2019un art de la rue, qui plus est, cr\u00e9\u00e9 par un graffeur suppos\u00e9ment d\u00e9pourvu de culture\u202f\u2013 artistique \u2013 historique\u202f? \u00c0 la vue des nombreuses images faisant explicitement r\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux grands maitres de l\u2019histoire de l\u2019art, rien ne laisse croire \u00e0 une quelconque atrophie culturelle chez l\u2019artiste.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En d\u00e9finitive, nonobstant les multiples interrogations qui persistent au sortir du Mus\u00e9e Banksy, un constat s\u2019impose\u202f: sa production r\u00e9pond aux principales caract\u00e9ristiques de l\u2019art contemporain.
