Quand la fiction prend racine<\/em>, de Gentiane B\u00e9langer et Alexandra Tourigny-Fleury, explore l\u2019usage \u00e9mancipateur de la science-fiction comme genre narratif dans des contextes discursifs ax\u00e9s sur la diversit\u00e9 ethnoculturelle. Par la bande, elles scrutent aussi son influence sur les constructions identitaires \u00e0 partir du concept d\u2019 image fabuleuse d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 par F\u00e9lix Guattari.  Les \u00ab images fabuleuses \u00bb sont des \u00ab figures qui font office de passage entre la vie et la fiction, produisant des r\u00e9alit\u00e9s alternatives g\u00e9n\u00e9ratrices de subjectivit\u00e9s embryonnaires [pour] \u00e9largir des champs de virtualit\u00e9 [et ainsi] permettre l\u2019\u00e9mergence de nouveaux univers de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence et de modalit\u00e9s singuli\u00e8res d\u2019\u00e9nonciation \u00bb, rappellent les commissaires en introduction. Les \u0153uvres rassembl\u00e9es ici proposent moins une histoire fantasm\u00e9e qu\u2019une histoire inclusive n\u00e9e dans cet espace privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9criture qu\u2019est la science-fiction.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Transform\u00e9e en cabinet de curiosit\u00e9s, la Galerie d\u2019art Foreman accueille le travail de cinq artistes et d\u2019un collectif. D\u2019entr\u00e9e de jeu, on est frapp\u00e9 par l\u2019abondance et l\u2019\u00e9clectisme des objets pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s : des imprim\u00e9s, une photographie, des projections vid\u00e9os et des dessins tapissent les murs. Des livres \u00e0 l\u2019esth\u00e9tique futuriste, plac\u00e9s sur des pr\u00e9sentoirs, sont mis \u00e0 la disposition des visiteurs. Des objets insolites, sortes de r\u00e9sidus d\u2019exp\u00e9riences scientifiques, sont aussi offerts \u00e0 la manipulation. Deux postes de visionnement pr\u00e9sentent des images qui piquent la curiosit\u00e9 et, enfin, un mannequin \u00e0 \u00e9chelle humaine se fond parmi les visiteurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensemble, ces objets et dispositifs interpellent un futur alternatif, voire utopique, construit sur un pr\u00e9sent \u00e0 revoir, \u00e0 infl\u00e9chir. Sonny Assu, artiste kwakwaka\u2019wakw, propose une r\u00e9\u00e9criture de l\u2019histoire. Dans <em>Interventions On The Imaginary<\/em>, il intervient sur des oeuvres de l\u2019histoire de l\u2019art canadien sous forme de graffitis num\u00e9riques pour dynamiter un primitivisme d\u00e9suet pr\u00e9sent dans les \u0153uvres originales. <em>Time TravellerTM<\/em>, de l\u2019artiste d\u2019origine mohawk Skawennati, \u00e9voque une histoire et un imaginaire futuristes autochtones du point de vue d\u2019un personnage principal qui tente de choisir librement ses statuts politique et \u00e9conomique en dehors du contexte colonial. Par ailleurs, la r\u00e9alisatrice Danis Goulet invite \u00e0 se m\u00e9fier des conditions id\u00e9ologiques en place. Dans <em>The Hunt<\/em>, elle \u00e9chafaude une dystopie sur un potentiel d\u00e9rapage du futur autour d\u2019une s\u00e9ance de chasse d\u00e9rang\u00e9e par un \u00e9trange personnage. Enfin, \u00e0 partir d\u2019un ensemble d\u2019objets et d\u2019art\u00e9facts, le projet <em>Iyapo Repository <\/em>\u00e9pluche la mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 d\u2019un avenir \u00e9galitaire pour la diaspora africaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u00c0 Sporobole, l\u2019espace de la galerie est occup\u00e9 par un immense \u00e9cran sur lequel est projet\u00e9 <em>In the Future, They Ate From the Finest Porcelain<\/em>, un film de l\u2019artiste palestinienne Larissa Sansour et du r\u00e9alisateur S\u00f8ren Lind. V\u00e9ritable condens\u00e9 de probl\u00e9matiques situ\u00e9es au carrefour de la politique, de l\u2019arch\u00e9ologie et de la science-fiction, l\u2019\u0153uvre aborde la question de la r\u00e9sistance et de la cr\u00e9ation de mythes \u00e0 travers diverses interventions historiques.
