For two years during the end-of-the-year holiday season, Christophe Beauregard explored the magical world of residential neighbourhoods where hundreds of homes light up and glow in the night. Titled Las Vegas<\/em>, Beauregard\u2019s images are a killjoy, revealing nothing behind the scenes but rather catching uncanny \u00adatmospheres in the light apparatuses invented by the dwellings\u2019 inhabitants. Emptied of any human presence, the light shows look like as many vanitas \u00adwithout qualities, like stardust. Christophe Beauregard lives and works in Paris. Since his Chirurgies<\/em> series (2005) (Manuel d\u2019esth\u00e9tique<\/em>, \u00c9ditions Filigranes), he has been working on various forms of staging in photography. In 2008 he published Semantic Tramps<\/em> (\u00c9ditions Filigranes) and Technomades<\/em> (Europe-\u00c9chelle 27<\/em>, \u00c9ditions Trans photographic press\/Signatures). The Las Vegas<\/em> series was projected for the first time at the Festival Voies Off en Arles in July 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
