Raqui \u00adspecializes in \u201csquashing, crushing, and trampling\u201d her customers. In this project, Rottenberg investigated how the body functions as a commodity in \u00adfantasy-driven \u00adtransactions. In <em>Pocono Party #1<\/em>, Rottenberg invited some friends to spend the night with her at the Caesar\u2019s Pocono Resorts, to create a structure that would last for only a few seconds, and that would stretch each of the performers\u2019 talents. Born in Buenos Aires in 1976, Mika Rottenberg lives and works in New York City. In 2006 she received the Cartier Award in conjunction with the Frieze Art Fair. Her work was on view at the Guggenheim Bilbao and the 2nd Bienal del Fin del Mundo in Ushuaia, Argentina.
